Cooroy Drapery Newsletter May 2020

Hi there. Thank you for subscribing to our mailing list. Firstly, apologies for such a long break between emails. We've been working hard behind the scenes to create our brand new online store but still have a few more things to do before we can publish the website. The good news is that it's getting very close now so keep an eye on your Inbox for some great opening specials and all the details. Meanwhile please email or text us on 049 779 4240 if we can help with anything.

Like many of you, we’ve had to re-evaluate certain aspects of our business and life in general in these past few months. We've been basically forced to slow down and take stock of things; those that need to be a priority and those we need to let go of. We are grateful to have everything we need; a roof over our heads, food on the table and our beautiful family and friends. Things don't always go as planned and it's clear that things won't go back to what they once were, but are exactly as they are meant to be and we are very glad that we decided to close in December and move the business to online.

We wanted to show you these gorgeous panels from Natalie Jane Parker. Natalie Jane Parker is one of Australia's premier artists specialising exclusively in Australian native wildlife. These four different panels each featuring three of Natalie's beautifully detailed designs, have been printed onto high quality 100% cotton fabric. Use for cushions, bags, quilts or even in clothing.

Each panel measures 40cm x 112cm. Price will be $11.50 per panel on our website, but as a special for our email customers only, buy any panel for just $10.00 each, limited time only (offer expires 10 June 2020). You must be a customer on our email list to qualify for the discount.

We also have a few kits available for the gorgeous Wheelhouse Medallion Quilt from Anna Maria Horner, available as either a 5 month block of the month or as an outright kit. I was lucky enough to see this quilt unveiled at AQM by Anna Maria herself, in November and it is stunning!

Simple appliquè, clever fussy cutting and machine piecing techniques feature in this beautiful quilt designed by Anna Maria Horner to celebrate her latest collection "Hindsight" for FreeSpirit Fabrics. Inspired by re-imagined designs from the past 15 years, this collection features bold and beautiful flowers in fresh new colourways mingled with allover prints and other favourites.
Finished quilt measures 80" x 80" (approx 200cm x 200cm)

Join our Wheelhouse Medallion Club and receive in your kit:

On a personal level
John and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a lovely holiday to New Zealand in early March. When we returned home to Australia the world was a changed place with the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic affecting all corners of the globe. We spent the obligatory 2 weeks in self isolation, coming back to earth very quickly after our fabulous holiday, but feeling so blessed to call Australia home. Like many others, I've recently rediscovered a love for baking with a focus on easy, uncomplicated recipes. Yummy sourdough, biscuits, cakes, jams, ice-cream and kombucha have been among the regular list of makes from the kitchen.
It has also been a blessing to have an endless supply of fabrics, yarns and handicrafts as a creative distraction, especially at this time.

Being able to indulge in something that I am passionate about is very satisfying and something I think we all need to take the time to do more of. Working from home has been a bonus for us, helping minimise costs and unnecessary travel, as well as allowing us to spend more time together and more time doing what we love. With chooks, fruit trees and working towards growing our own vegetables in our backyard we are a little closer to being more self sufficient and by making some simple lifestyle choices such as shopping less often, making do with what we have, purchasing good quality items to last, as well as growing and making as much as possible, we like to think we are taking steps towards a more sustainable future.

That’s our news for the moment. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to order a panel, kit or anything else or if you'd like any further information. Thanks for being a loyal customer and we look forward to welcoming you to our brand new online store very soon.

Until next time, kind regards
Bronwyn and John
